About the Author

My name is Paris Donehoo, and I have learned that faith without passion is nothing more than a museum artifact.  Therefore, I hope you find here some passionate thoughts about relating a progressive, open-minded faith to the issues facing us.  However, I have also learned never to take myself too seriously, so I hope you discover some items to make you chuckle as well.

In 2018 I retired as the senior pastor of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Elgin, Illinois. Before then I served as a chaplain and bereavement coordinator for Hospice of West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois, and as an adjunct professor in the Doctor of Ministry in Preaching degree program at Chicago Theological Seminary, as well as serving churches in Illinois and my native Georgia. I am the author of two previous books as well as articles in Christian Century, Christian Ministry, and other journals.
